God created mankind in His own image, pure and without sin, to enjoy a personal relationship with Him. But humanity chose to rebel—this is what the Bible calls sin. Because of sin, we became separated from God, both in this life and for eternity. The consequence of sin is death, and justice demands that it must be paid for.

God’s Love Made a Way

God, in His love, was not willing to leave us in our sin or destined for eternal separation from Him. So He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take our place. Jesus lived a sinless life and willingly died on the cross, bearing the punishment we deserved.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” —John 3:16

Our Response

If we’re honest, we all fall short—we’ve all sinned. Recognizing our sin is the first step toward receiving God’s love. He calls us to:

Admit that we are sinners.
Repent (turn away) from our sin.
Believe that Jesus died for us and rose again.
Receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
